Light weight fixed gear for Jonathan in Madison

This is my first frame with the new Pacenti Slant-6 lugs
These lugs are designed for a 6-degree sloping top tube. Rather than use them the usual way (exessive standover compact type frame) I'm using them to get the handlbars in a nice relativley upright position. I'm setting the standover at a normal inch or two and then lettign the top tube slope up 6 degrees to the heatube. On this frame it gets Jonathan an additional 4cm of height which will eliminate the need for any excessive spacers or crazy high stem to get a level with the saddle handle bar position.

These lugs are also designed to be used with an 1 1/8" steer tube. Normally I steer people away from 1 1/8" because it offers no advantages in road, cylo-cross, touring, or track bikes. 1 inch is plenty strong for these applications and all 1 1/8 inch offers is increased weight...untill now. True Temper finally came out with a new 1 1/8 inch steerer that adresses this issue. Because of its larger diameter 1 1/8 inch should be able to be done with a thinner steerer (bigger=stronger and thus thinner and lighter). The new True Temper steerer is significantly lighter than the old 1 1/8 inch steel steerers and is even significantly lighter than a one inch threaded steerer.
